Great Strickland is surrounded by spectacular scenery and an abundance of attractions and places to visit. The Steading is an ideal base for exploring the nearby Lake District, with Ullswater less than 10 miles away, and the beautiful, unspoilt Eden Valley. The Pennines are within close proximity and the Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Borders are a leisurely drive away.

The Steading is conveniently located for a holiday in Cumbria and is just a short drive from Junction 39/40 of the M6 motorway.

The Strickland Arms village pub is less than 5 minutes walk away from your accommodation. It serves local Jennings and guest ales offering an extensive menu. You will always be guaranteed a warm welcome from the landlords Anton and Penny.

Also in the village there is an enclosed playground, St Barnabas Church, the village hall which holds regular events and a recycling station.

The nearest Post Office/village store is in Askam (2.5 miles)

The historic market town of Penrith is just 6 miles away and has a range of amenities including supermarkets, banks, restaurants, petrol stations, etc.
